Let's All Play for the Love of the Game

A little commentary about this event and foundation...Ever just look at a coach or player and say, "that's a baseball dude through and through." You just know it. Buck O'Neil, Alex Gordon, Grienke, Salvy etc...Just an aura about them, that was Daryl Cronk in the coaching category. Every level of play appreciated. Every player watched and coached encouraged and motivated. Every day living life to the fullest, bold-facing that dash between life and thereafter. That's what the collective baseball community in Kansas City misses about Coach Cronk. That's what the Dash Foundation is doing to continue Cronk's legacy.
Kids that can't afford travel ball still might dream of playing on a team like that but how do they get there? We all know grit and grind takes you a long way, but advanced mechanics and positive productive repetitions make good athletes great. This coach dedicated himself to those kids that had the grit but needed the next level of coaching and motivation to achieve the next level of play and he gave it to them for nothing more than the love of the game. I wish I could say the same for myself for more kids than I've coached. We're throwing this tournament at a tough point in the summer tournament series. Teams are playing World Series locally or throughout the region, playing elite showcase ball at the HS level, or have called it a season. So we're trying and we've done all right, but let's do better for this foundation. We can do that through this channel whether you're involved in this tournament or not. Take a sec., hit a QR code and take a chance on winning a prize for your time and support but more importantly for my money at least, picking up the tab for a kid I'll never meet for a lesson or bit of instruction that might change the game for him or her or extend their career and fall in or stay in love with baseball. Let's help this foundation out.
