UMPIRING AT 3&2
Join our 3&2 umpire family.
Thank you for your interest in umpiring at 3&2 Baseball. We have a great family of umpires, and the job can be very rewarding. As with any job, we have several requirements and expectations outlined below which will help make you a successful umpire. It is CRITICAL you read all information below, complete the registration process and follow all future steps to have a successful experience. As part of this registration, you will need to answer some questions that will help us better understand your current skillset and experience.
To complete the registration process, you will be required to pay a $40.00 non-refundable application fee. This fee can be paid via credit card or Venmo*** but must be done before the registration process is complete. While it is non-refundable, the $40.00 will be returned to you in the form of a bonus should you umpire at least 20 games during the 2026 season.

For you to be as prepared as possible and to have a positive experience, you will be required to complete the following:
· Online training
· In person training
· Review additional reading material
· Obtain specific uniform items
· Read and acknowledge the expectations
· Complete an online umpire test.
Once you have completed these steps, you will receive one free umpire shirt and hat. You will be responsible for supplying the remainder of the uniform which includes the following:
· Grey pants (no sweatpants, shorts or baseball pants. Must have umpire pants when doing kids pitch games)
· Black belt, black socks, mostly black shoes (Tennis shoes are allowed for Machine Pitch umpires however umpire plate shoes must be used when umpiring kids older than 10 years old)
· Umpire ball bag, indicator and plate brush
3&2 will provide a list of our preferred vendors for any of the uniform items should you decide to utilize them. Once you have completed the items above, you will be ready for to start your umpire journey.
During your umpire journey, it is critical you communicate effectively and respond timely with all communications from your umpire and 3&2 leadership. This communication typically comes in the form of emails but could be sent via Text messages as well. You are expected to respond timely to notifications and information. Failure to respond could result in missed opportunities or in the worst-case inability to umpire for 3&2 baseball.
Anyone over the age of 18 will also have a background check completed before being approved to umpire at 3&2.
