WELCOME
Congratulations on an outstanding season and welcome to the 2006 USSSA Baseball 8U/2nd grade machine pitch, 10U/4th grade, 12U/6th grade and 14U/8th grade “AA” World Series Tournament. Your tournament host is The 3&2 Baseball Club of Johnson County. 3&2 won the 2003 Mo-Kan “Commitment to Excellence” Award and was named as the “Outstanding USSSA AA Nationals Site of the Year in 2002. 2006 will be 3&2’s fifth consecutive year of playing host to these age levels for the “AA” World Series. All of which should give confidence to your team and families that they will have a quality experience at this year’s World Series Tournament.

AA TEAMS – Grade or Age Based
Grade-based teams will be permitted to participate in this tournament. It is one of two AA World Series Tournaments in the nation in which USSSA has allowed grade-based teams to participate.

QUALIFICATIONS TO PLAY IN WORLD SERIES TOURNAMENT
In order to participate in this World Series tournament, you must have participated in a state qualifying tournament and in a state tournament. In addition, the following items must be turned into your state director by July 5.
• Completed ENTRY FORM.
• Cashier’s check or money order for $450 made payable to “USSSA BASEBALL”.
• Official USSSA roster.

To find information on your state director, click here. The State Director will then forward this material and a letter of transmittal to the AA World Series Headquarters: The 3&2 Baseball Club of Johnson County, PO Box 14011, Lenexa, KS 66285 to guarantee your spot in the tournament.

CHECK IN & MANAGER’S MEETING
Because of space considerations, a maximum of two people per team will be allowed at this meeting. Players should NOT attend this meeting. Team managers need to have the following items with them when they check in:
1. USSSA roster that will be compared with one submitted earlier that will be supplied by USSSA.
2. Cell number and hotel of where you are staying
3. Current year grade cards or birth certificates for each member of your team to verify they are in the proper grade/age.

The mandatory manager’s meeting will cover rules and procedures to be followed during the tournament. Teams can be checked in after the meeting if necessary.

TEAM MOM MEETING
At the same time as the check-in meeting, a Team Mom meeting will be held in an adjacent room. The purpose of this meeting is to pick up any pre-ordered items as well as learn about the entertainment possibilities in the area and about other things going on during the tournament. A maximum of two people per team at this meeting, please.

HOTEL INFORMATION

FORMAT
The USSSA Baseball program will use the pool-play format in this World Series tournament. Teams will be seeded into pools (based on the USSSA point totals available to the Tournament Director) where they will play a round robin within their pool. A double-elimination format will be used in the championship bracket once the final eight teams are determined. A single-elimination consolation tournament will be held for the teams that do not qualify for the championship bracket. The exact format of the tournament, e.g., number of pools, number of teams in each pool, etc., will be set by the Tournament Director following USSSA Baseball guidelines and being approved by the USSSA Baseball World Series Committee.

AWARDS TO BE PRESENTED
• Team awards for the 1st through 4th place teams in the championship bracket.
• Individual awards to the 1st through 3rd place teams in the championship bracket.
• Teams awards to the champion and runner-up teams in the consolation bracket.
• Individual awards to 1st & 2nd place teams in the consolation bracket.
• Outstanding offensive player award (1st place team in the championship bracket)
• Outstanding defensive player award (1st place team in the championship bracket)
• MVP award (1st place team in the championship bracket)
• Individual awards (min. of 15) to All World Series Team
• Individual World Series Certificates for Each Player

DETERMINATION OF FINALS STANDINGS
Teams will be seeded for final standings based on when they were eliminated in either of the championship or consolation bracket play and then by total record and runs allowed. The winner of the consolation bracket will not place higher than the lowest finishing team in the championship bracket.

ITINERARY (tentative)
Tuesday, July 11
• Noon to 1:30pm – Team check in (Managers Only) at Radisson Hotel, Lenexa. (95th & I-35)
• 1:30-2:30pm – Mandatory manager’s meeting at Radisson, Lenexa.
• 1:30-2:30pm – Team Mom meeting to learn about what to do in the area and learn other details of the tournament. Radisson Hotel, Lenexa.
• 5-5:30pm – Teams arrive and line-up for parade at Shawnee Mission South High School located at 5800 W. 107th St.
• 5:30pm – Team parade starts.
• 6:15pm – Opening ceremony
• 6:30pm – Player social
Wednesday, July 12
• 8am - Pool play begin.
Thursday, July 13
• 8am - Pool play continues. Last games will end at 5:30pm.
• Each team will play three pool games during pool play on Wednesday & Thursday.
Friday, July 14
• 8am - Championship and Consolation bracket play begins
Saturday, July 15
• 8am – Championship and Consolation bracket play continues.
Sunday, July 16
• 8am – Championship and Consolation bracket play is completed. Final games scheduled to start at 2pm.

TEAM PARADE, OPENING CEREMONY, PLAYER SOCIAL
To open the World Series tournament, a team parade and players social will be held on Tuesday, July 11 at the football stadium at SM South High School, located at 5800 W. 107th St. Players should arrive between 5:00 and 5:30pm and prepare to line up with your team for the parade of teams that will start at 5:30pm. Team banners and state flags are encouraged. Team pictures will be shot prior to the team being announced. Players and coaches should be in uniform. Teams will exit the track and enter the bleachers on the east side of the stadium and sit in designated areas to hear a welcome address and have a group picture taken.

The opening ceremony will start at 6:15pm or immediately at the conclusion of the team parade. It will consist of remarks by local dignitaries and tournament officials.

Following the parade and welcome address, the player social will be held between the bleachers at the north side of the track. An area will be available for tournament t-shirts and other items, including tournament passes and other mementos.

Beverages will be available for purchase from 5:00-7:30pm.

ADMISSION
Admission during the tournament will be $20 for a tournament pass or $5 per person per day for ages 14 and up. For children ages 6-13, the charge will be $12 for a tournament pass or $3 per day. This charge includes everyone except players and team coaches in uniform. A maximum of four passes will be issued. Please see the paragraphs concerning “Pre-Selling Items” for an order form to pre-order you tournament passes.

TOURNAMENT PROGRAM
A tournament program will be created that will include schedules and elimination brackets. It will also include rosters of the teams that submit their rosters on-line through the 3&2 web site. USSSA rosters will not be used for roster information that will appear in the program. This program will be sold for a price to be determined.
