by posted 01/16/2020

Coaches Clinic February 8th

3&2 is excited to announce one of our most popular events, the 3&2 Baseball Coaches Clinic, is scheduled for 9am-12:30pm on Saturday, February 8 at the University of Kansas Sports Medicine and Performance Center, located at 8302 W. 125th St. Overland Park.

We are grateful to the Kansas City Royals & KU for hosting and sponsoring this year’s event. This event is completely free to attend but space is limited this year to 100 coaches due to the size of the host site. Please RSVP by registering for this free event.

We have assembled a terrific team of speakers for the 2020 Clinic.

Leading off the event is Kansas City Royals team physician Dr. Vincent Key.  Dr. Key is going to talk about Dispelling the Myths of "Throwing" Athletes and ways to train for peak performance and prevent injury in young athletes.

Sessions will continue with Varsity Baseball Coaches from the top programs in Kansas City sharing their knowledge and techniques for training and coaching pitching, hitting, catching, base running, agility, leadership, and practice plans.

New this year--Due to this clinic's value and standards of excellence in training, we are being recognized by USA Baseball as a certified community clinic event! If now or in the future, you wish to become a certified coach by USA Baseball, attending this clinic counts towards that end. There are no costs of any kind for this certification or the clinic.  For more information on the coaching certification component of the clinic, CLICK HERE.

Whether you wear the formal title as manager of the team, assistant coach, or you’re a parent/coach at home wanting to improve your knowledge of the game when working with your son, you’re invited and encouraged to attend!

Indoor League for KDG-2nd grade players
by posted 12/30/2019

3&2 Baseball is excited to introduce a new Winter League option for players in Pre-K thru 2nd grade (4-8U) this season.  Want to keep the development and training going through the winter months or are you a family who hasn’t played ball before and wants to get started before spring?  This is the league for both of you and others in between.  This is NOT just a hitting league.  This is full indoor baseball games for young players.

Games are played at HOMEFIELD USA located inside the Elite Sports Mall at 2115 East Kansas City Road Olathe KS 66061.  The playing space is one of the finest indoor sports venues in the area and terrific for baseball training and games.

Teams will play their current grade level as a default.  Teams are composed of a recommended roster of 5-7 players, with a maximum number of 8 teams total for the league.  Space is limited!

The season will start on Saturday, February 1st and games will be played Saturdays from 3-6PM. Games are 1 hour long. The season will be 6 weeks long and will conclude on March 7th.

Managers or coaches interested in having a Winter Ball team should complete a manager’s application starting December 13, 2019 on 3&2’s web site.  Click on the REGISTER TEAM button on the front page of the web site and follow the prompts. This must be done before individual players will be able to be added to your team roster.

Interested in playing but don’t have a team???  Individual player registration will be done through the 3&2 web site. Parents should click on the REGISTER NOW button on the front page of the web site and follow the prompts. On a space available basis, teams may be formed with players not already on a team (free agents). Parents are needed to lead and coach those teams.  Free agents will not be placed on a team until and unless registration is paid in full.

The player registration fee is $75.00.

Can I play a grade level higher if my child’s advanced or a grade level lower if my child’s needs more development?  In general, yes to both situations and we look at each of those cases individually.  At this early level of baseball, we’d recommend playing your grade level, meeting friends/classmates your age for ease of potential team transitions in the future.

The league structure will be the same as during the summer with divisions within age levels to make sure teams are matched as evenly as possible. If you’re a manager, when you register, please indicate the level of play your team should be in. Standings will be kept.

Teams should wear as similar colored uniforms as possible. Mixed uniforms are acceptable.  While uniforms are not provided by the league for this program, machines to pitch the baseballs are provided.  Sign up today!!
