Combine is Highlight of 12th Annual Fall Select Showcase
by posted 09/19/2019
More than 75 athletes from all over Kansas and Missouri will be evaluated by College and Pro Scouts as part of 3&2's 12th Annual Midwest Fall Select Showcase pro-style combine this weekend. The combine will be run by Emporia State Head Coach Seth Wheeler and Baker University Head Coach Ryan Goodwin. The event will be held from 8am-noon at the KC Urban Youth Academy and will be a 5-tool evaluation for position players and a general athleticism and 15-25 pitch evaluation for pitchers.
The Showcase tournament event will feature 35 teams at the Jr. College, 18U, and 16U level from schools in South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and elsewhere. This is a unique event for scouts to attend because it pairs in many cases, Jr. College and High School level games side by side so scouts get to evaluate a great range of baseball athletes from our premiere playing locations at 3&2, T-Bones Ballpark and KC Urban Youth. In previous years, more than 50 scouts have been in attendance.
Good luck to this list of combine participants who are representing schools from all over the region and all our teams in this weekend's Showcase.
When you play more than 10,000 games during a season, you’ve got to feed a lot of people. At 3&2, we’ve been doing so for generations and the food is almost as much of the memory as the game! We are known far and wide for our excellent ballpark fare… there are people who come back to 3&2 just to get a bag of fries, a hamburger or a fried burrito! As a matter of fact, at one point our French fries even had their own Facebook page!
We’re looking for that proven, food-service industry superstar that can be difference maker for 3&2. You’ll be in charge of up to five concession stands, a staff of around 100 and finding new and innovative ways to satisfy the hunger of players and fans alike.
You’ll be part of our family that is continuing the legacy of 3&2 as we prepare for our 70th year as the leader in youth baseball in the Kansas City area, and a heavy hitter on the 3&2 team that is providing a quality game and ballpark experience for more than 600,000 people a year who enjoy games here.
If you think you’re all that and a bag of chips (we serve those too!), we want to hear from you! We’ll be holding tryouts (also known as interviews) this fall so that we are ready for spring training in 2020. Send a cover letter with all your career and qualification stats and resume that includes all relevant experience to Jeff Chalk, 3&2’s Executive Director, at
