The afternoon concentrates solely on hitting.
About the instructor
Camp instructor Rich Kuzydym will begin his 26th year as head
coach of the SMNW baseball program. As a head coach, Rich’s
Northwest teams have appeared in 17 regional finals – winning
14: 14 state baseball appearances – finishing third five
times and fourth once; and winning state championships in 1990,
1991 & 1993. He was 6A Coach of the Year in 1991 and National
District 5 Coach of the Year in 1993. Coach Kuzydym and his staff
are looking forward to developing the young area players who are
the future of the Shawnee Mission Northwest baseball program.
Where is the camp?
The regular baseball camp will be held at SMNW baseball field which is located behind the school. The hitting camp will be in the wrestling room.
What do I bring to the camp?
Morning campers should bring glove, spikes, baseball pants, hat,
bat and water bottles with name on it. Catchers bring gear I if
you own it. Afternoon campers should bring batting gloves, bat
and hat.
